Stephanie Moss (she/her)

Chicago, IL

Stephanie Moss is a Latina third year medical student studying at Rush Medical College in Chicago, and is pursuing becoming a trauma-informed family medicine physician. Her experience growing up in a dysfunctional household led her to have a passion for caring for others who are disempowered in society. Previous positions she has held include being a caregiver for the elderly, a bilingual case manager for children with disabilities, and co-founding a grassroots organization to support the Chicago homeless community. This year she decided to take a year off from medical school to focus on her mental and physical health, including healing from her childhood trauma. She has been active in sharing her journey through social media, virtual presentations, and blog posts. Additionally, she has been writing about her journey through a book she hopes to publish in the near future. She is also in the process of building a website which will contain her writings and hundreds of resources on trauma related health conditions for both patients and medical providers. Lastly, Stephanie has been collaborating in an inter-professional team to improve research and medical advocacy on pelvic pain and sexual health conditions.

“In order for us to be successful in being able to provide justice to all communities is that we need to be able to understand that there is a connection between the body, the mind, and everyone else.”
